CANDY MONEY DUE!!!
All money from candy sales is due to the GTCSC Event Coordinator and will be collected next Saturday, September 24th at the park. If the candy is not paid in full to the GTCSC Event Coordinator by the end of the 24th, it WILL NOT count toward prizes. SAVE THE DATE
Make-up pictures have been scheduled for Wednesday, September 7th at 5:30 PM. Pictures will be taken on the upper field at Rollins Park until all teams have been completed. We have 15 teams that have not yet taken pictures and each will be photographed in the order of arrival. It shouldn't take too long with only 15 teams.

Coaches/Team Parents, please make sure that you register your team name with Collette Byrd as soon as possible. All team names need to be approved for appropriateness and uniqueness. We don't want the same name used more than once within a division. Names will be approved on a first come-first served basis. CANDY SALES REMINDER!
The GTCSC fundraiser candy sales kickoff event will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at Nickelodeon Pizza. All teams must send a representative with a team roster to receive their candy for the fundraiser. The event is from 6 PM-9 PM. Free pizza and soda will be served to team representatives. OPENING CEREMONIES VENDOR INFORMATION
We are soliciting vendors who would like to have a booth at opening ceremonies. We are only allowing one booth for each type of food or product at the event to maximize the fundraising capability for each booth, and would like to give GTCSC teams first chance for each product. These team booths can be used as team fund raisers. FINAL TRY-OUT DATE
We have established a final try-out date of July 6th, 6PM, at Rollins park. This try-out is for ALL age groups. Any player in the U8 or older divisions who did not play for the Grand Terrace Community Soccer Club last FALL season must try-out. The just finished spring season doesn't count. If you did not play in Grand Terrace last fall and have not attended a try-out this season, please plan to attend on July 6th. Proper rating of skill level is crucial to our continuing attempt to field fair and balanced teams.

TRY-OUT INFO!!!
Try-out dates have been set the 2011 fall season. Try-outs are required for all players, U8 and older, who did not play for the Grand Terrace Community Soccer Club during the fall 2010 season. If you played somewhere else last year, you still need to try out. Please follow the SCHEDULE link at the top of the page to find your division's try-out date and time.
This year our intention is to have the format of our try-outs (and, therefore, our ratings of players new to our league) based upon small-sided games or scrimmages. All coaches are invited to help evaluate and rate the kids----especially those in your age division.

ADULT SOCCER IS COMING THIS FALL!
We have been approved by CalSouth to have an adult soccer league in Grand Terrace for the fall 2011 season . The games will be on Saturday afternoons, beginning in September. You will sign up with CalSouth online and the fee will be $50.00 per player, which must be paid online directly to CalSouth. We appreciate your continued patience as additional information is forthcoming. The sign up and payment procedures are not in place yet. As soon as we have the specific sign-up and payment procedures, they will be immediately posted here so sign-ups can begin. Thank you for your understanding, we apologize for the confusion, and look forward to seeing you out there this fall.

NO ADULT SOCCER THIS SPRING!!
It is with regret that the GTCSC Board of Directors announces that there will be no adult soccer in Grand Terrace this spring. We have been unable to get our completed application approved by Cal South, and have simply run out of time to put together a reputable adult league this spring. We are still awaiting the approval of our application for fall adult soccer. As soon as the fall application is approved by Cal South, sign-ups will begin online. Sign-up instructions will be posted here. Continue to check this site for adult soccer information/updates for the fall league. COACHES:
You have a unique opportunity to attend an "E" Clinic in Grand Terrace August 21st and 22nd from 8:00am to 6:00pm both days. It has been many years since such a clinic has been held in Grand Terrace. This is a very instructive class, dealing with a much higher level of training than the YM classes. Although the league will reimburse you ($85) for the cost of this clinic, you must first pay for the clinic and you must register on-line at calsouth.com if you plan to attend. This coaching license will allow you to coach U14 and U18 players. Please sign-up now and e-mail me when you have done so. Classroom work will be at Terrace Hills and field work will be at Pico Park.

NOTE TO PARENTS:
Coaches can start notifying players starting July 23rd and practices will start the week of July 26th. Practice days will vary from team to team. To be ready to start practice some items your child will need are listed below, along with other important information.
Ball Sizes
Size 3 for U-6 thru U-8
Size 4 for U-10 and U-12
Size 5 for U-14 and up
Shin Guards - These must be worn at all practices and games. Without them your child will not be allowed to play.
Cleats - Soccer cleats are optional, but are very highly recommended.
Baseball cleats are not to be worn for practice or games as the toe cleat
can cause injuries.
Water Bottle - The weather is warm and your child will need plenty of water
before, during, and after practice.
No Jewelry - Jewelry is not allowed on the soccer fields and coaches may ask players to remove any jewelry. This includes necklaces, bracelets, earrings, or other exposed piercing's. This is for safety reasons. If your child is wearing any of these items at practice or on game day, they will be asked to remove them before being allowed to play. Medical alert bracelets may be worn. Small religious medallions may also be worn, but must be tucked inside their shirts. |
